Please read these terms carefully before using our website or services

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the website operated by The Nicol Hotel & Conference Centre ("we", "our", "us") and your engagement with our accommodation, dining, conference and related services. By accessing our website or making a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Definitions

"Hotel" means The Nicol Hotel & Conference Centre, situated at Corner of Nicol Road and Skeen Boulevard, Bedfordview, Gauteng, South Africa, 2000

"Guest" means any individual who makes a reservation or uses the services of the Hotel

"Services" means accommodation, dining, conference facilities and any ancillary services offered by the Hotel

"Website" means thenicol.co.za and any associated subdomains
3. Reservations and Bookings
3.1 All reservations are subject to availability and confirmation by the Hotel.
3.2 A reservation is only confirmed once you receive written confirmation from us via email.
3.3 Rates quoted are per room per night and are subject to change without notice until a reservation is confirmed.
3.4 You must be at least 18 years of age to make a reservation.
3.5 The Hotel reserves the right to decline any reservation at its discretion.
4. Check-In and Check-Out
4.1 Standard check-in time is 14:00 (2:00 PM) South African Standard Time.
4.2 Standard check-out time is 11:00 (11:00 AM) South African Standard Time.
4.3 Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may incur an additional charge.
4.4 Valid government-issued photo identification is required at check-in.
4.5 A credit card or deposit may be required at check-in to cover incidental charges.
5. Cancellations and Modifications
5.1 Cancellation and modification terms are detailed in our separate Booking Policy, which forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
5.2 In the event of a no-show, the Hotel reserves the right to charge the full reservation amount.
5.3 The Hotel reserves the right to cancel a reservation in exceptional circumstances, with full notification and refund to the Guest.
6. Payment
6.1 Payment is accepted via credit card, debit card or electronic funds transfer (EFT).
6.2 All rates are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT unless otherwise stated.
6.3 Corporate billing is available to approved account holders. Terms for corporate accounts are governed by a separate agreement.
7. Guest Conduct
7.1 Guests are expected to behave in a respectful and lawful manner at all times.
7.2 The Hotel operates a strict non-smoking policy in all indoor areas. Designated smoking areas are available.
7.3 Pets are not permitted on the premises unless prior written consent has been obtained.
7.4 Noise must be kept to a reasonable level, particularly between 22:00 and 07:00.
7.5 The Hotel reserves the right to request any Guest who violates these terms to vacate the premises without refund.
8. Liability
8.1 The Hotel will not be liable for any loss or damage to personal property unless caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct.
8.2 Guests are advised to make use of the in-room safe for valuables. The Hotel accepts no liability for items not secured in the safe.
8.3 The Hotel's liability to any Guest is limited to the value of the room charges for the relevant stay.
8.4 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 All content on the Hotel's website including text, images, logos, graphics and design is the property of The Nicol Hotel & Conference Centre and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
9.2 You may not reproduce, distribute or use any content from our website without prior written permission.
10. Website Use
10.1 You may use our website for lawful purposes only.
10.2 You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its underlying systems.
10.3 We reserve the right to withdraw access to the website at any time without notice.
11. Privacy
Your use of our website and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by reference.
12. Force Majeure
The Hotel shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, government restrictions, pandemic or epidemic declarations, or civil unrest.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. These terms were last updated on 15 April 2026.
